For planned cover, we typically present verified candidates within one to two working days of receiving your requirement. Our pre-verified candidate network means compliance is not a bottleneck.
Is SHR Group on the NHS Framework?
Yes. SHR Group is an approved supplier on relevant NHS procurement frameworks, enabling GP practices, PCNs, and NHS Trusts to engage us compliantly for temporary and permanent clinical staffing without separate procurement processes for eligible requirements.
What compliance checks do you carry out on candidates?
We verify GMC or NMC registration (online, real-time), enhanced DBS certificate, professional indemnity insurance coverage and scope, right to work in the UK, occupational health clearance, two satisfactory clinical references, and all mandatory training requirements including Safeguarding Children Level 3, Safeguarding Adults, Basic Life Support, Information Governance, Fire Safety, and Manual Handling.
Do you work with both locum and salaried GPs?
Yes. We place GPs in both locum (sessional) and permanent salaried or partnership roles. We also support portfolio working arrangements — for example, a combination of regular anchor sessions and a part-time salaried post. Many of the GPs we work with use both services at different stages of their career.
How do candidates get paid when placed through SHR Group?
Candidates submit timesheets via our dedicated iOS and Android app (SHR Group E-Timesheets). Once the timesheet is approved, payment is processed promptly. Candidates operating as sole traders or through limited companies invoice us directly. We also offer PAYE and umbrella company arrangements for those who prefer it. Our consultants can advise on the most appropriate payment structure for your circumstances.
Can SHR Group help with ARRS recruitment for our PCN?
Yes. ARRS workforce planning and recruitment is one of our core services for PCN Clinical Directors and Practice Managers. We can advise on role eligibility, help you build the right clinical mix for your patient population, and source pre-verified ANPs, ACPs, clinical pharmacists, paramedic practitioners, and social prescribing link workers across England.
What happens if a placed candidate cancels at short notice?
We take short-notice cancellations seriously and have a clear escalation process. If a placed candidate cancels with less than 24 hours notice, we immediately begin sourcing a replacement at no additional cost to the client where possible. We maintain a pool of available clinicians specifically for cover situations, and our consultants are reachable outside standard business hours for genuine emergencies.
